encaustic.

I've been thinking a lot about trying encaustic painting when I'm done with x-ray school.

Have any of you tried it? I like the layering effects that you can achieve - makes sense since I like to use glazing techiniques in oil.

Here is one encaustic painter I stumbled upon on the web. I think I prefer nonobjective to representational. There is something about representational encaustic that screams Starbucks to me, or trendy, 90's, or - graphic design... something.
