head in a swirly, twirly, cloud

i am a person who puts down deep roots - roots in my physical space, in the colors, shapes, plants around me.

now that i'm moving, i'm in that in-between, homeless state of mind. my space isn't here anymore. i packed it up, in lifeless, brown paper boxes, stacked by the door. my clothes crumpled together, my beads all put away, my dishes wrapped in newspaper.

i hate this in-between part, where my mind drifts along with my body, and i cling to anything for survival.

ungrounded.

uprooted.

unsure of the future.

unaware of my sense of self.

Thursday we get the keys,

And I will be putting new roots down. and i will build myself a new home, a new cozy space.

it is the beginning of a new life for me.
