as good as it gets

why even at age 29 i still believe people are good not evil

and i still believe everything people say to me

i had to find out when i was home

at midnight with a few beers and some loud bluegrass by the river

with someone singing off key into the microphone


and we all agreed

it is something we all share

this belief that life is more

people are truly good deep down

and there is something worth working for
